About the Yealink CP50

The CP50 is the main unit of a two-part system. On a small table it works alone: plug it into a laptop or room computer with the included USB-C cable and it becomes the room’s microphone and speaker, with full-duplex audio so both sides can talk at once. Mute and volume buttons stay in step with the meeting software. In a larger room, CPE40 extension microphones plug into its audio port in a chain, and the CP50 powers them over the Ethernet cable.

It can also sit in a Yealink video room. Its codec port connects to a UVC camera such as the UVC85 or to a video conferencing unit such as the MeetingEye 500, and with those a laptop plugged in by USB-C can use the room camera and audio for its own meeting or share its screen. Noise, echo and reverberation reduction handle common room sounds like air conditioning and typing, and automatic gain control evens out loud and quiet voices.

Questions about the Yealink CP50

Does the Yealink CP50 work with a Telnamix hosted phone system or 3CX?
Connected by USB-C to a computer, the CP50 is plug and play and acts as that computer’s microphone and speaker, so a softphone or meeting app on it, such as the 3CX desktop app, can use it for calls. Yealink notes the USB connection currently supports Windows.
What is the difference between the CP50 and the CPE40?
The CP50 is the main unit: it has the power input and the USB-C, Ethernet and Bluetooth connections. The CPE40 is an extension microphone and speaker that only works chained to a CP50, which powers it.
How many CPE40 extension mics can I add?
Up to 3 with the included 48 V 0.7 A adapter, or up to 7 with the optional 48 V 2 A adapter, for 8 devices in total.
Can the CP50 be powered by PoE?
No. It runs from its 48 V DC adapter, and it supplies power to any CPE40 units chained to it.
What does it connect to besides a computer?
Its codec port links to a Yealink UVC camera such as the UVC85 or a video conferencing unit such as the MeetingEye 500, and Bluetooth 5.0 connects a mobile phone at up to about 10 m.
What is the warranty?
Telnamix warranties Yealink hardware for 3 years.
