About the Yealink AX83H
The AX83H needs no DECT base station. It joins your existing Wi-Fi on 2.4 or 5 GHz (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax) and uses the 802.11k, v and r roaming standards to move between access points during a call, so it works anywhere the building has good Wi-Fi coverage. It registers to your phone system as a SIP phone, with up to four accounts and local 5-way conferencing.
The handset has a 2.4-inch color screen, a backlit keypad, vibration and a proximity sensor, and its earpiece is hearing aid compatible. Headsets connect over Bluetooth 5.0 or the 3.5 mm jack. It charges in its cradle or from a USB-C cable (the cable is not included), and it can be wall or stand mounted. For setup, Wi-Fi details can be shared to a handset by QR code or to many handsets over the air, and the AX83H is managed through Yealink's device management platforms.

- Yes. It is a SIP phone that registers up to 4 SIP accounts over Wi-Fi. Registering to a SIP phone system is how it works with a Telnamix hosted or 3CX system.
- Does the AX83H need a base station?
- No. It connects directly to your Wi-Fi network, so it works wherever your Wi-Fi reaches. Good coverage across the areas where staff walk matters more than with a desk phone.
- How long does the battery last?
- Yealink rates it for up to 9 hours of talk time or 200 hours of standby, in ideal conditions. It charges in the included cradle or from a USB-C cable.
- Can I use a headset with the AX83H?
- Yes. It pairs with Bluetooth headsets over Bluetooth 5.0, with answer, end and mute from the headset, and it has a 3.5 mm jack for wired headsets.
- Should I choose the AX83H or the AX86R?
- The AX83H suits offices, shops and hotels. The AX86R is Yealink's ruggedized model, sealed against water and dust, drop rated, with a larger battery, a push-to-talk key and an emergency alarm button.
- What is the warranty?
- Telnamix warranties Yealink hardware for 3 years.
